ModFarm 3 Is Live!

There’s a lot going on here, better strap in…

The First Site Built with ModFarm 3

Our first site build entirely in ModFarm3!

We’re proud to announce that the first author site built entirely using ModFarm3 + Fetch is now live. Every book page, cover image, and metadata field was created using Fetch’s Gen3.6 pipeline — from Kindle ASINs to finished pages.

This marks a major milestone for ModFarm: moving from hand entered data to fully automated content creation. ModFarm2 freed us from standard templates and let us build out immensely customized book pages and sites. ModFarm3 takes that a step further, enabling anyone to build those pages automatically with ease. What once took hours of manual data entry can now be done in minutes, with accuracy and consistency that improves with every release.

Let me tell you a little bit about what ModFarm3 can offer and then I’ll tell you how you can get it.

Unprecedented Design Flexibility

ModFarm Theme + PPB+ Fetch = Beautiful Book Pages

A common problem with WordPress is the complexity of getting set up and making it all look nice and coherent. There’s long been a reliance on themes – and many other services do the same (SquareSpace, Wix, etc). You select a theme and then you make it work. Some services have customization options, some don’t. But, none of them really work out of the box, because they’re generic – nothing is ever made specifically for the individual.

So, we left templates behind.

ModFarm Sites are designed to work with our own Pattern Page Builder (PPB) set up in your site’s Command Center, ModFarm Settings. Select the kind of header you want, with the body layout you want, and the footer you want. Add in some colors and, voila – yours.

Thousands of possible permutations – and you can make you own custom patterns as well. Want to play around a bit and find the right combo for you? No problem, you can change it 100 times, at any time.

No coding, no design paralysis, no bad choices. Just select what you want, pick out your colors and shapes, and you’re done.

Complete Branding and Design Control

Every book element is customizable with ModFarm3 – your books, your way

The now iconic (?) ModFarm Book Cards got a pretty significant overhaul. Better functionality and a lot more style. ModFarm3 provides complete control over how your books are presented on your site. Change colors, options, orientations, and even art – audio, 3d renders, square, rounded, landscape!

There is no code for this, each book block has drop down controls that are not overwhelming, are very intuitive, and have with local overrides. You can set them centrally from ModFarm Settings and never touch them again, or you can make targeted changes to specific books to help them stand out. Want different genres to have different colors? You got it. It’s completely up to you.

Effortless Book Entry

The incredibly simple Fetch interface.

Entering books is always a sticking point. Many author websites are out of date or falling behind and and new releases come and go and the website’s never touched.

Not any more.

After months of development and testing, Fetch has officially graduated from the trial phase and moved into full production.

Fetch will go out across the web, find what it needs, bring it all to your site, and build your book pages all by itself. You don’t even need to upload the cover art. Got audiobooks? Fetch will capture the audiobook cover art, too, and the samples, links and meta to boot.

Enter in the Kindle ASIN and that’s it.

Fetch makes everything nice, neat, and laid out exactly as your design specifies

The system has been tested in real-world conditions with hundreds of Fetch operations across a broad range of titles, format combinations, and genres, returning an accuracy rate above 95%. It can assemble an entire book page – cover art, samples, links, meta, formats – and build it out in your site’s custom format and layout in under a minute.

All you need to do is enter a Kindle ASIN number and Fetch will handle the rest.

Fetch is now trusted as a stable, production-ready engine for building and maintaining book catalogs, and I’ve personally entered over 200300 books with it this week alone.

A Modernized Book Management System

Make a change in the BMS and it applies everywhere across your site.

Books are the heart of Author and Publisher websites, so we have a complete, dedicated Book Management System (BMS) in every site. Whether you are just starting out with your first book or are a publisher with several thousand books, the ModFarm BMS can handle it.

Made to work with Fetch, the ModFarm BMS will format your book pages perfectly and keep all of your information ready for distribution all across your site. Home page, Index Pages, Blog Posts, wherever you can think of – and organized however you want. Coming Soon blocks that sense and update according to your book’s publication dates. Randomized “You Might Also Like” sections. Newest Releases, Pre-Orders – it’s all on the table.

Built For Marketing

A sign up form built with ModFarm toolswe use it, too!

ModFarm websites are marketing machines.

We have our own in house Newsletter system, but our sites also work with all third party systems (MailChimp, MailerLite, ActiveClient, ConvertKit – you name it).

Our sites have SEO and Schema literally baked into their bones. Each site is precofigured for Book, Author, Publisher, Review, Article, and Product schema. SEO, Search engine notification, and social compatibility is automated – you won’t have to touch, but you’ll know it’s working.

Each site has a full analytics suite, with in-house and Google Analytics. Not only will you see page views and visitors, but every book and button element has full tracking enabled, reporting to both Google Analytics and your site’s dashboard.

You’ll not only see comings and goings, but you’ll know exactly what they did while they were there.

Enough of the Awesome – How Do We Get This?

A new site built this week on ModFarm3 + Fetch

Sadly, ModFarm3 is not compatible with our existing book pages and sites. In order to bring this to everyone, we will start transitioning our existing members to the new system, completely rebuilding their sites in the process (no cost to them). We have 20 sites currently in progress and expect to have every existing site fully transitioned by the end of the year.

We are also taking signups for new members. If you are an author looking for a website (or know of one), we are bringing in new sites now before the full public launch of ModFarm3. Get signed up on the wait list and we’ll keep you posted on progress.

ModFarm’s mission remains the same: to make powerful, intelligent, and effective websites easy for authors and publishers.

And with Fetch now live in production, that future just got a lot closer.

We’ve got a lot more coming.

If you’re looking for an author website, we’d be happy to have you.
